Gigs in Stellenbosch 22 – 28 August

As August comes to an end, a string of exciting gigs is about to begin! This week, Stellenbosch has some exciting events lined up. This Wednesday, the Meeting Place kicks off a week of events with their Bedroom Superstars — a platform that gives aspiring artists a chance to perform for an audience. Wednesday continues to be a treat when Splinter, Girls on Film, and The Stone Cherries will perform in the second semifinals of Battle of the Bands at Aandklas.

The weekly band night at Bohemia is back on Thursday, and this week it features sets by Nicky and the Old Boys, and Toughguy. On the same night, DORP will also host The Gingers, a South African cover band.

Kicking off the weekend, there will be an AC/DC Tribute at the Daisy Jones Bar by the band Recreating Vinyl on Friday night. You can also see your favourite South African drag queens perform at Ladies of the Night, hosted by Queer Mafia SA, this Saturday at the Daisy Jones Bar. On Saturday night, the top bands of this year’s Battle of the Bands will face off for the number one spot.

On Sunday, Stellenbosch locals can unwind at the Dorp Street Sunday Market while listening to the best throwback tracks Vinyl DJ Paulie has to offer.
