This is the week to take a break and enjoy some fantastic events in Stellenbosch. It is the last week of September, so take advantage of the relaxed atmosphere and great line-up.
Starting on Wednesday, you can catch Nic Sedgewick at the Hazendal Jazz Club. This is the perfect gathering for jazz aficionados. A Cape Town Collective, known as Samsâra, will be hosting a midweek party at Fools Gold on Wednesday Afternoon. David Derman, the Stellenbosch-based singer-songwriter, will be at Neethlingshof for their ‘Wine Down Wednesday’.
This Thursday, Karel Bester & Die Kraaines Band and Willem Welsyn will perform at Bohemia at their weekly band night. At De Stomme Jonge, the Nameless Thirst and AKiMBO will be playing some live music for everyone to enjoy.
The Courtyard Café will host their weekly ‘Court’s in Session’ event on Friday evening, with DJs all night long. Mystics will be hosting a Party Night to kick off the weekend in style. The Daisy Jones Bar will host a Queen tribute show featuring the Family Band. The Family Band is considered one of South Africa’s best tribute bands.
This Saturday, you can unwind at Balboa Balcony Bar while listening to the incredibly talented Hugo Veldsman. At The Daisy Jones Bar, The Revival Co. will be hosting their event ‘Electric Fragile Self’ featuring some incredible local bands – Sold Ash, Holograph, Gaze and Local//Youth. At Aandklas, they are hosting their ‘Emo Night’ featuring the bands Almost Alive and Stellenbosch locals’ favourite – Aflos.
On Sunday, the Dorp Street Market will be back in full swing with Vinyl DJ Paulie providing the best of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. At Balboa Balcony Bar, you can experience an evening of great live music with Ethan Florus. Sunday Bingo at Bohemia always promises to be a fun-filled evening with great prizes up for grabs, you would not want to miss it!
