Hey, there. My name’s Tiaan and I’m a student at Stellenbosch University currently doing my honours in French. I’ve always been interested in journalism, and I joined Die Matie independent student newspaper almost since my first day at university. Over the years, and in different capacities ranging from Online Editor to Editor in Chief, I’ve grown as a journalist and built up a network of peers and mentors in the field. I’m very passionate about my next chapter as journalist for The Stellenbosch News, because I think it gives young people the perfect platform to contribute a new voice in local media and document life in and around Stellenbosch.
